Player versus player, or PvP, and player versus environment, or PvE. PvP is battlegrounds, arenas, world confrontation on a PvP server. PvE is dungeons, raids, world bosses that are around in Azeroth. They are two separate parts of the game, but all integrated into that same game as a whole.
However, the key is that these are separate. They are similar, yet very different to each other and have different goals, even within each area. One battleground might have you try to kill the opposing NPC leader, as in Alterac Valley, and another could have you capture the flag three times, as in Warsong Gulch. One dungeon encounter might have you kill a boss, whereas another might have you protect a NPC from waves of hostiles. Same game, different objectives and different rules.
Really, all I care about I foresee another subscriber drop from people who are fed up with this. I understand why they would want to do this, it just seems abit to early for nerfs though when 4. It probelly be better if it was just normal modes and leave the heroic modes how they are till abit nearer the release date for 4.
Heroic modes should be hard, normals' should be puggable. Nerfing normals 3 months after release? Nerfing Heroic modes? If they have realised that 7 bosses was not enough for a patch designed to last 6 months and are trying to "extend" it to 14 for the greater community by nerfing the heroic modes, i can see kind of where they are coming from, but at the same time I disagree with it, let the hardmodes be hard until the next patch, and by way of making them easier people will come back to them in better gear, no need to nerf them.
They didnt nerf the T11 hc's, so why nerf the T12's? Ah thats right Good lord people, Blizzard is damned if they do and damned if they don't with you guys.
You can't nerf it because only the top elite should be able to go through Firelands! Stop complaining and get a grip. You want to be angry? Aim your anger at the players who are whining for nerfs and whining for increased difficulty. Blizzard does what the people want. Don't go after Blizz just because they're the only target you see. I'll have to agree. Re; Firelands, though: I just don't see how it could possibly be out by October Like Ashelia said, it sounds very, very unlikely.
Normally, they do about a month of PTR at least, and we haven't seen all that much of 4. Why not a buff like they gave in ICC? Knowing it took us 4 adds and cycles of slimes to down him and then see us take 1 or 2 cycles to kill him after the nerf, it makes it seem more like clearing up older content than progression.
It becomes more of a "lets see the content at least and clear up the achievments involved I think some aspects of the fights should have been slightly nerfed, but not a blanket one. Same with the 4. Some small adjustments to some bosses and abilities woeld have been fine. That or leaving things as is but making the next tier of gear a larger step up like wrath and bc were.
Instead they dumb it down a lot so much that the mechanics dont mean anything on most fights after the nerfs. It's sad. I almost feel like it's just easier to wait for the nerfs on stuff instead of wiping for weeks on over tuned encounters cause thats the kind of system they are doing in this exp.
They go from insane over tuning to dont need to try without any in between. If they tested this crap on ptr better than a day per encounter and then changing spells and crap around on them at release to keep it "fresh", they'd have a better set of fights that wouldn't need this kind of crap to be done to them for casuals to see them thru successfully. Kothnok Monkey's Uncle Administrator Posts: Seems like with such a massive stat nerf you don't need any of the Firelands gear to beat Rag. If this is a taste at "how things will be" in that you have to bust your ass on daily grinds as fast as humanly possible to get the gear in order to finish their normal content before the nerf bat swings and renders all that gear accumulation pointless I doubt I will see the fun factor lasting long.
Like Gren said, "after the nerf, it makes it seem more like clearing up older content than progression". I feel as if I'm being punished for not devoting every waking moment to this game. Time walking raids are an afterthought regardless. General Vezax has an ability which still does the same damage it did in Wrath, which in squish-land makes it a 1-shot mechanic. Not to mention how buggy the flame leviathan encounter is.
TW raid was vastly more rewarding than the normal raid as it still had pre-SL drop rates regardless of the change in loot design. I got 4 bits of loot and all I had to do was stand in fire and take no damage The only boss we wiped on was the cat lady and the next time I just turned myself into a sacrifice for the opening spike of damage and more free loot.
