The general rule is that unless you can fit it in a pocket, it will have to go — so obviously, the fanny pack cannot be too big either. After all, it might mess with the restraints, which is why you might want to leave it in the locker before entering the queue. Rest assured, considering that lockers have biometric scanners, your belongings are completely safe. Some people say that as long as you are not intending to ride, then you might be able to take a bag in with you.
The queue itself lasts about 40 minutes, maybe even more — but the ride itself lasts at around 4 minutes. This is why many people wonder whether it is worth going through the queue with such a short ride. The queue part will take you through Hogwarts and is typically less scary — or not scary at all. In order to ride on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, you must be at least 48 inches tall cm.
Due to the fact that the seats are fairly spread out, no children under that height will be allowed on the ride — even with a supervising adult. If your child cannot ride or is not at the right height yet — but you really want to go onto the ride — you may also take advantage of the child swap. Children are easily scared, so you might want to think twice before taking them on the ride with you. Before entering the queue, tell the people at the front that you wish to take advantage of the child swap — and upon reaching the ride itself, the child will be taken to a waiting area.
That depends on your definition of a drop. However, it comes with a lot of movement — often made more intense with the motion simulator. That being said, if you are prone to motion sickness, it may affect you. Mixing that with seeing creepy scenes such as huge spiders coming straight to your face, it might add to your upset stomach even more. The drop might not affect you as much as the creepiness of the whole ride would, along with the motion-stimulating effect.
In case you do not want to go on the ride, there is a non-rider path that you may take as well. Considering that the queue has many signs telling you to bail if you have motion sickness or other conditions, they made a path that non-riders could take as well. This allows you to enjoy the beauty of Hogwarts without the ride. Watch the Fat Lady portrait make faces, Pages in the Daily Prophet coming back to the light, the Great Hall with its magical look, and everything Hogwarts related.
Simply ask them, and they will allow you to. LoL I half expected your post to say you wanted to take a stuffed animal on the ride On a more serious note I think you will be OK - it is worth giving it a shot. There are no real drops like a roller coaster but it does 'fly' like a more intense Soarin' with a screen in front of you and there are some anamatronics that 'scare' you in the castle part after the screen, think Dinosaur at Disney.
Have you done any of the similator rides? My Stepson and Husband both rode FJ and liked it and I can't get them near a roller coaster or Tower of Terror, in fact Stepson was so nervous he nearly 'chicked' out in the line.
In fact they both went on it again in the evening before we left, hope this helps. Joined Oct 28, Lou Holtz said:. Joined Mar 26, As for fj I had to close my eyes and miss some of the cool stuff because I was getting sick I don't think the ride was too scary especially from reading all the posts here I did the ride again later in the day and forced myself not to close my eyes Joined Jul 2, Plus, given the amount of growth hormones used in chickens these days, I doubt many of them would fit.
Have you seen the size of some of those chicken thighs out there? Thanks so much for everyones help I really dont want to miss out on this ride. I have been on Dinosaur and while it was a bit scary I was ok, it's really more speed and big drops that can't deal with.
Thanks eveyone And the chicken jokes were funny you guys. Joined Nov 22, BigD Earning My Ears. Joined Oct 18, I went on the ride today after reading loads of threads online about if it was scary or not. I really don't like big coasters and scary rides, but I have been on a few with my girlfriend whilst I have been out in Orlando. First thing is first- it is NOT horrible or scary or intense at all.
It is the smoothest ride I have ever been on, really feels like gliding around. You WILL go up and down and tilt on your back for a very short time mere seconds but it is all so smooth it really does not make you feel bad at all. There are no horrible coaster style drops where your stomach turns.
That video nearly put me off. Probably the only bit anyone will have trouble with are the bits with the videos, which can seem fast, and do simulate flying down cliffs and similar you don't feel the drops, it is important to remember that but my tip for this is if you feel scared just look directly up or down, or to your extreme right or left. If you do that you can see the edge of the projection screen and you can tell easily that you are just facing a screen and not moving.
I did this on my first time round at the start and then started gradually forcing myself to watch the screen. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey takes you on a flying adventure throughout the grounds of Hogwarts on a magical, enchanted… bench. The visible ride vehicle for Forbidden Journey is deceptively mundane, as it sits above one of the most technologically advanced ride systems ever created — a KUKA robotic arm that runs along a ride track, providing an extreme amount of motion as it dives, turns, and pivots your bench.
While you do not go completely upside-down, you will be tilted in just about every other direction you can think of. If you are prone to motion sickness, you may want to do some research online to see how other riders have coped with the experience. We would rank Forbidden Journey five out of five Dementors in terms of scariness.
Close encounters with over-sized spiders and those pesky Dementors, along with the unique ride motion, can make the experience as scary as it is amazing. When originally designed, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey had many more Dementors, including the ones painted on the walls in ultraviolet light that were originally going to be activated by the ride vehicles. I first rode this in , and as both a thrill-seeker and Potterhead, this was quite an experience.
The queue is beautiful, and the ride itself is awesome. One of the best rides ever created, the Forbidden Journey is a truly unforgettable experience. Everything from the ride cue to when you first sit down is incredible.
